Bruce and Tom's Excellent Adventure

Bruce and Tom's Excellent Adventure is a great combination of elements, terrain and trails ranging from slick rock to singletrack to fire roads. All of this with jumps, drops, rock gardens rolls and climbs thrown in. The singletrack, which is well-groomed and not over cut, snakes through the woods utilizing the natural terrain. The sturdy homemade stunts, ramps and bridges gives this place it's great unique character. There are a lot of natural drops, most are less than 3 feet high, but there are at least 2 that are over 4 feet and one out by a farm stand that is over 8 feet! All sections are walkable if you're not comfortable with riding them. If you are looking for fast single and double track, this is definitely not your place. Most of the singletrack here is slow and challenging.
The Pink Loop
The main trail is marked with tin triangles painted pink. This loop has a great flow and takes about 2 hours to ride. Don't let the color of this loop fool you, because this is no wussy trail. This loop can get technical in places, to an intermediate or advanced level.
When you get to the clearing with the church ruins, the pink trail takes a left behind the cross to an area appropriately named "rampOrama" for the many ramps and bridges. There is no easy way around these stunts, so if you feel that this section is too touch, you can bypass it by going another 20 yards and taking the cut-in on your left.
Towards the end of this loop there is an offshoot on the right, which will take you up to Eagle Rock. This is one of the highest points in the area, rewarding you with panoramic views of Ipswich Bay, Essex River, Gloucester, and the coastline of New Hampshire and Maine! The decent from the summit is a 60' roll-off, which takes you back to the Pink Loop.
The Yellow Loop is an extension of the Pink Loop and will add on about a ½ hour to your ride. It begins at a stonewall that is heavily marked with pink arrows pointing you right. To do the extension, go straight at this point following the yellow markers. After a quick little downhill you'll be at an intersection. Take a right and just keep following yellow markers. The Yellow Loop contains some hard-packed fire roads with some good downhill sections. You will eventually go back up the hill towards the stonewall where you will be taking a left back onto the Pink Trail
