MOSA Sports Recalls Helmets
Fri Mar 21, 2003
Source: US CPSC
In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), MOSA Sports is voluntarily recalling about 1,250 "Five 40" helmets. The helmets fail impact testing as required by CPSC's Safety Standard for Bicycle Helmets, thereby violating the Consumer Product Safety Act.
The recall is a preventative measure, as thus far no injuries have been reported to MOSA Sports or CPSC.
The helmets are black, white or red and have "Five 40" printed on the front and back. The helmets were made in China.
Sporting good stores sold the helmets from October 1999 through September 2001 for about $25.
For more information contact MOSA Sports at (800) 804-0211.
